After leave Prague - Roma, easyJet is opening a new connection in between Prague and Venice (Marco Polo Airport). This route seems to be focused on leisure passengers and will be operated three times per week (Tue, Thu, Sat) effective Feb 4th 2016. Flight time is 1 hour and 25 mins.
MoreTravel Service has agreed on an ACMI leasing of one of their Boeing 737-800s to VLM Airlines for the 2015/16 winter season. The aircraft will be based in Brussels. VLM have ordered SSJ100 LRs, however the first two planes planned for 2015 are now expected be delivered in 2016 only.
MoreCSA Czech Airlines plan ACMI lease two of their A319s to their SkyTeam partner, Saudi Arabian Airlines. OK-OER and OK-PET are scheduled to leave Prague on Oct 1st, 2015 and to enter service with Saudia on Oct 5th, 2015 after the necessary documents are issued. The planes are currently being painted into the SkyTeam scheme at Ostrava.
MoreFour pilots and three parachutists perished this morning when two Dubnica Air L-410s (OM-ODQ and OM-SAB) crashed climbing off the Slavnica airfield. There were 17 parachutists on each plane, most of them managed to escape the planes and suffered minor injuries. The airshow has been cancelled.
MorePrague welcomes a new scheduled cargo operator. From today (08/03/2015) Ukraine International Cargo took a TNT service in between Prague and Liege. Boeing 737-300F operates service Kiev Borispol - Prague - Liege Monday to Friday in evenings, flying back next day in the morning. Stop-over in Prague is in same time as TNT service (21:50-22:50 and 05:50-06:35 local time). Ukraine International Cargo is selling additional capacity on top of transporting TNT cargo on Prague - Kiev route.
MoreAs of today, fleet of CSA Czech Airlines is even smaller. OK-YFT, ATR72-212 c/n 387, used to fly from Prague to Frankfurt (and back) last commercial flight and then flown to Toulouse-Fracanzal to be returned to the lessor. CSA rented this plane for two years from Air Contractors (EI-SLL).

MoreEffective today, Travel Service is wet-leasing Boeing 737-800 registration OK-TSD to Arkia for about a month. The aircraft is not dedicated to any destination so it is appearing likely at Amsterdam, Barcelona, Helsinky, Heraklion, Oslo, Paris, Rijeka or Rhodes. The lease has option for extension. El Al is newly leasing Boeing 767-300 from Spain based Privilege Style. It is planned for Amsterdam, Barcelona, Marseille, Milano, Munich, Paris or Rome by end of August 2015.
MoreHainan Airlines starting 23.09.2015 are launching new service to Czech Republic: direct Beijing - Prague flights. Chinese B767-300 will operate the flights, arriving in Prague every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 07:30 in the morning. Return flights to Beijing are scheduled for the same day at 13:30.
MoreAir Transat is leasing one of their Airbuses A330-200 to Travel Service for 2015 winter season. Travel Service will operate this 345 seater (12C + 333Y) on Carribean charters to Varadero/Punta Cana. This widebody lease allows Travel Service to avoid technical stops at Azores needed for Boeing 737-800 operated this flights before. Carribean service is scheduled twice per week (Wed, Sun). Travel Service operated widebody aircraft in winter seasons 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 using Boeing 767-300.
